Blackout shutters are designed to eliminate any extra light bleed coming through the window using a slim honeycomb blind behind the shutter. When the honeycomb blind is down, an almost 100% blackout effect is created.
One of the best utilities for blackout shutters is for nurseries and baby rooms, where light elimination is much more important for sleeping. During the day the shutter operates as any regular shutter, with the panels and louvers being operated to provide lighting and privacy. When blackout is required, the honeycomb blind can be pulled down from the top of the frame and the panels closed, providing an incredible blackout solution.
